Mark Williams, Member of Parliament for Ceredigion, has supported calls from the Hywel Dda University Health Board for people in Ceredigion most at risk to enquire about receiving a flu jab this winter.
Mark visited Bronglais Hospital on Friday 16th December to discuss the campaign and to receive his flu jab.
Mark said “It is really important that those most at risk do not miss out on getting a free flu jab from their GP, and in some cases it may also be possible to receive it from your community pharmacy.
“It is also really important that health workers take up the opportunity to receive a flu jab. Not only does it help protect them, but helps to protect those they work with, many of whom are more at risk than the average person.
“While most people who get flu recover fully, complications can occur in those more at risk, such as the very young, the elderly, those who are pregnant, and people with certain medical conditions. So if you think you are at risk, or work with those who are, I would highly encourage you to get in touch with your GP or community pharmacy.”
