Williams expresses concern over withdraw of funding for environmental groups in Wales

Ceredigion’s Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams has written to the Welsh Government Minister to express his concern about the Welsh Government’s decision to withdraw funding to various environmental groups across Wales, which they had received through the Environment Wales grant scheme.

These funds had been supporting locally based environmental action in Wales since 1992, and was received by projects in Ceredigion such as the Long Wood Education and Conservation Project, the Wise Woods Volunteer Programme, and the RAY Ceredigion Recycling and Scrap store.

Commenting Mark Williams said:

“These are projects who undertake important work to protect and preserve our local environment in Ceredigion. All of them are excellent community schemes, and their work should be nurtured. I hope Minister reconsiders this decision.”
