Mark Williams, Member of Parliament for Ceredigion, has supported the work of local solicitors taking part in Will Aid this November.
Solicitors who are signed up to the Will Aid initiative will draw up a basic Will free of charge during November to raise money for Will Aid charities such as ActionAid, the British Red Cross, Save the Children, NSPCC, Age UK and others. In return, the solicitors taking part hope clients will choose to donate the fee they would normally charge, with a suggested voluntary donation of £95 for a basic Will, or £150 for a pair of basic mirror Wills.
Making a Will is vital to ensure that wishes are carried out after death and that loved ones are protected, yet many people often put it off. Dying without a Will can mean months or even years of misery and hardship for those we leave behind.
Mark said “I am supported Will Aid this November, and encourage everyone to take up this important chance to obtain an affordable Will, drawn up by a qualified solicitor. I commend those local firms taking part, who are not only helping to raise much needed money for charity, but also helping many people to ensure that loved ones are protected, even in the worst of circumstances.”
Will Aid in 2014 received over £1.7 million in donations, and since being founded in 1988 has enabled legal firms to raise over £15 million.
