Ceredigion’s Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams has celebrated the work of Ymlaen Ceredigion and its Club Cosy scheme in Parliament by tabling an Early Day Motion.
Mark Williams tabled the motion which commends the innovative Club Cosy scheme which Ymlaen Ceredigion run with the support of the Welsh Assembly, and deliver on behalf of Ceredigion County Council.
The project works to develop and support oil buying syndicates or fuel clubs in Ceredigion, where most homes are off-grid.
Commenting Mark Williams said;
‘I was pleased to table this motion in Parliament to highlight the pioneering work being undertaken in Ceredigion to tackle the issue of fuel poverty.
‘Collective purchasing power is a great tool for the majority of us in Ceredigion who are off grid. We need to buy heating oil, and if prices are high we do not have the option of switching energy suppliers. Club Cosy can also help us all become more energy efficient.
‘The Club Cosy project in Ceredigion is a fantastic pilot scheme, and one which I hope other areas can learn from and pursue further.'
