Save Dyfed Powys Helicopter

Elizabeth Evans, Ceredigion's Welsh Assembly Candidate is calling on the NPAS & the Government to reconsider their decision to scrap the Dyfed Powys Police Helicopter. Elizabeth says:

“Last year the Police Commissioner assured us that the services of the Police helicopter in our area would be protected. A decision was taken to scrap 4 out of 23 helicopters across the UK to save money. The territory Dyfed Powys covers is the largest police area in England & Wales, & the second largest in the United Kingdom.

Based on this information alone I do not understand how this decision could be made. The helicopter can get from Pembrey to Aberystwyth in just 24 minutes – well over an hour less than by road. I believe the services of the police helicopter are essential to managing the vast rurality of the Dyfed Powys Police area. There needs to be a review into this decision as soon as possible.”

If you agree that Dyfed Powys Police Helicopter should be protected please sign Liz’s petition below.

(The petition will be passed on to the Home Office, WAG & NPAS)
