Cardiology care needs saving

Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Ceredigion, Mark Williams, has reiterated his call to retain cardiology services in Bronglais Hospital.  This comes particularly following the Royal College of Physicians review into the provision of cardiology services in the Hywel Dda Health Board area.

Particularly worrying are the assumptions made in the Report about how far people in Ceredigion would have to travel to receive treatment if cardiology services were centralised in Glangwili Hospital.  In particular the 50 mile journey to Glangwili from Aberystwyth, 68 miles from Machynlleth, 80 mils from Tywyn, and 80 miles from Llanidloes, often over difficult roads, which could very well result in patient deaths.

Concern over changes to Cylch Caron Project

Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Ceredigion, Mark Williams, has contacted the Health Minister Mark Drakeford AM and Hywel Dda health board following concerns over recent changes to plans for the Cylch Caron Project.

Having previous received widespread support, significant changes announced recently left the local community concerned as to whether the project will now meet their needs.
